The roads around here are dangerous. There is no two-ways around that, and we all have experience with car accident. Though, it seems like every year around this time, we hear about a school bus accident, and unfortunately, this year is no different.
The school bus accident
On Monday morning, a Little Cypress-Mauriceville school bus driver lost control of the bus and slid into a ditch off Glenda Road. The LCM CCISD bus carried 15 high school and junior high school students from different campuses.
After the school bus accident
Luckily though, no injuries were reported in this Texas school bus accident, and each student was taken to school by another bus provided by the Little Cypress-Mauriceville School District. Each student involved in the school bus accident was checked out by their respective campus’s nurse, and the schools notified each student’s parents.
For Orange, Texas, residents, car accidents are a fact of life, and it is also an unfortunate fact that our children are no safer on their school busses. Nonetheless, for those that are victims of another’s negligence on Texas roads, there are motor vehicle accident laws that can help.
Specifically, through a personal injury lawsuit (or wrongful death lawsuit, if someone died), car accident victims can sue the negligent driver that caused the car accident for all of the damages and pain and suffering their negligence caused. The damages include all costs incurred, like damages to vehicles, items in the vehicle, medical expenses, etc. But, the first step is contacting an attorney to start the legal process.
